A quick gut check for parents with 11th graders.
A quick gut check for parents with 11th graders.
Even though this is typically the most demanding and stressful year of high school, it doesnāt mean that your child should be struggling.
If you notice that they are overly busy, constantly stressed out, or complaining about their workloadā¦
Thatās a red flag that they may be putting effort into areas that arenāt aligned with their natural talents.
Itās a disadvantage that will eventually catch up to them.
It might not be a big deal now, but the heavier workload in college will quickly show any gaps.
However, I donāt recommend waiting until they're committed to a 4-year programāor even further along in their careerāto discover that they havenāt found their true strengths and talents.
By that point, they've put in time, effort, and money without knowing where they're headed.
I suggest you help them find their strengths now, while they can switch gears, refocus, and make choices that'll pay off down the road.
This way, they can finish out their 11th-grade activities with the confidence that they are headed down the right path.
Based on feedback from overwhelmed 11th graders, Iām creating a new report called:
āFind Your Strengths: A Short Guide to Uncovering What Makes You Unique for College Success.ā
This report answers the question: What are my kid's hidden talents?
Iām only sharing this report with students who join the 11th-grade cohort for the Admissions Academy.
We are opening the doors tomorrow, Thursday, September 19th.
