Is college the new mortgage?

Never dive into the application process without considering this...

Would you let your child buy a house without knowing what’s waiting inside?

The idea sounds unimaginable.

Before buying a house, you’d think about things like:

  • The quality of the neighborhood and the future it promises.

  • The value of the house compared to others in the market.

  • The long-term value of the investment.

Yet when it comes to choosing a college, I’ve seen families overlook this kind of analysis.

They dive into the application process without fully considering what that decision will mean for their child’s future.

Many don’t realize how much this decision is like buying a home:

  • The decision will shape their life for decades to come.

  • It can sometimes cost as much as a home.

  • It often means taking loans that can last for years.

Just like with any big investment…

You wouldn’t put your hard-earned money into something unless you believed it would pay off.

That’s why it’s important to know which schools will really pay off for your child before applying.

If you've checked out my Junior’s Timeline, you know there are two big milestones in October.

  1. Financial Research.

  2. The Activities & Honors list.

This Sunday, September 29th, we’ll be going over these topics in our next College Admissions Academy group coaching call for 11th graders.

Parents are welcome to join the conversation as this is the best way to help you and your family start building a college list with confidence.

It’s also our first call for this new group, and I’m really excited to welcome you all!
