Are these viral Facebook posts misleading you?

Be careful not to get too caught up on this.

We've all seen those Facebook posts where proud parents share their child's college acceptances...

And of course, someone always asks about their courses, test scores, and GPA.

It’s natural to want to know how they did it, so we can help our own kids succeed.

But these "stats" don’t show the whole picture.

They just show if a student met that university’s academic requirements. They don’t explain why they got in.

Numbers alone can't capture a student's unique qualities, personality, or personal achievements.

So if you’ve found yourself comparing, be careful not to get caught up in it.

Trying to copy someone else’s path rarely works. I’ve seen it go wrong many times.

What really helps is guiding your child to discover their strengths and highlight them in their application.

As Anu, one of the moms in our community, recently shared:

"I have always tried to encourage my children to think about how they're different/unique in their own way, rather than get bogged down on how they can 'be better, smarter, [fill in your favorite xxxx-er]' than their classmates...

Your masterclass, 'How to Create a Student Brand' gave me the knowledge and tools I need as a parent to help my son value his unique strengths/perspective and BEGIN the process of discovering his 'brand.'"

If you’d like to learn more about the masterclass Anu mentioned, it’s inside our College Admissions Academy where we help students find and show off their strengths.

When your child learns to highlight their personality, strengths, and identity, they can put together an application that stands out—even without the highest scores.

If you’re ready to take this step, join us inside the College Admissions Academy.

Our next live coaching call is this Sunday, the 13th.
